In 1988 I opened my first bakery, the Runcible Spoon, in Nyack, NY. It was the best risk I ever took, and it paid off. "The Spoon" had a loyal customer following that grew over the years. But in 1992, wanting a change, I sold the business and with my husband, Peter, purchased The Riviera Bakehouse - an Ardsley, NY staple of over 40 years. My daughter Liv joined me in this new venture, claiming the decorating room as her own. Liv's desire to create whimsical and delightful treats for the eye paired with my passion for baking unforgettably delicious desserts was a hit, and the business kept growing. For the last 5 years running, Westchester Magazine voted The Riviera Bakehouse "Best of Westchester". Among others, we make sandwiches and soups, lasagna and burritos, cookies and tarts, stock cakes and specialty cakes, chocolates and jams, breads and flatbreads...Stop in next time you are in the area!
